José Plácido Domingo Embil, known simply as Plácido Domingo (Madrid 1941), is a Spanish tenor, baritone and conductor. Lyric-dramatic tenor, famous above all as an opera singer, as well as Latin American music, since 1973 he has also been active as an orchestra conductor, working with some of the major international opera organizations. He was general manager of the Washington National Opera and the "Los Angeles Opera". A survey carried out in the United Kingdom placed him in 58th place on the list of 100 living genes. In 1993, he was awarded a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The inclusion in the billboard of these interesting special evenings allows the Arena Foundation to reach not only the opera audience, but also those passionate about individual characters, the singers who will be the real focus of these gala evenings.
